Teaching & Outreach

I have taught several introductory level and advanced biology courses at Villanova University & the City College of New York. For 2018-2019, I will be funded through a CUNY Dissertation Fellowship, but please feel free to contact me for previous course materials.

This year I will be co-mentoring a pair of SRMP students with Dr. Marcelo Gehara through the AMNH – for more info on our project, check out the srmp4life website

Marcelo & I are also mentoring a pair of high school students from Cold Spring Harbor’s Urban Barcode Research Program – stay tuned for updates regarding this project!

For interested applicants, either those in the SRMP program or from the NYC area, check out this presentation about the kind of work I am interested in pursuing with undergraduate or high school students!

Scientific communication is especially important to me because many of the exotic and unique species that I study are drastically misunderstood! I participate in many of the AMNH education & outreach events – you can contact me regarding public talks, lectures, and general snake/education inquiries .
